News Vacuum Furnace thermocouple gets seal of approval
New Vacuum Furnace thermocouple & sealing assembly available from TC Inc.
A new Vacuum Furnace thermocouple and sealing assembly is available from TC Inc. for accurate temperature measurement in industrial vacuum furnaces to at least 1 x 10-6 bar and have, in fact, been used successfully at 5 x 10-6.
Available in types K or N with an impervious aluminous porcelain sheath or types R or S with an impervious recrystallised alumina sheath; the sensors have a stainless steel support tube and a weatherproof terminal head and are suitable for use up to 1600°C (types R and S).
The special stainless steel vacuum sealing assembly has a ¾”NPT male connection thread and fits on to the stainless steel support tube on the sensor to provide a vacuum tight ‘soft-seal’ which allows repositioning of the sensor in to the furnace.

The unique design of the sensor is such that maintenance and calibration are easily achieved on a low cost service exchange basis resulting in low running costs and a minimum downtime for servicing.
A standard range of sensors is available from stock, but due to the specialist nature of these assemblies, a full custom built service is available for both end user and OEM customers.
