  • Type 13 assemblies are available with thick wall protective sheaths in Stainless Steel, Inconel 600*, Incoloy 800*, Chromium Iron, Nicrobell etc. as well as specialised sheath materials such as Hastelloy and Kanthal
  • Typical temperature measurement applications include: furnaces (blast, carburizing etc.), kilns, ovens, boilers, flues, cyanide/galvanising baths and general heat treatment applications
  • Alternatively, we have a large range of sensors available to buy online in various diameters and lengths
  • Calibration is available for our range of Heavy Duty Industrial Thermocouple assemblies
  • Suited to arduous temperature measurement up to 2280°F/1250°C
  • Depending on the sheath material selected, Type 13 assemblies are suitable for use in neutral, reducing or oxidising atmospheres and those with high concentrations of sulphurous gases
  • Available attachment fittings include adjustable flanges or welded bushes

Suitable for severely corrosive atmospheres.
Good resistance to oxidisation.

Suitable for severely corrosive atmospheres.
Good resistance to oxidisation and carburisation.
Suitable for use in sulphur bearing atmospheres.
446 AISI 446
Suitable for severely corrosive atmospheres.

114 Nicrotherm DTM
For high temperature Type K and almost all Type N applications.
Very good high temperature strength.

Superior resistance to carburisation, thermal shock, sagging and distortion.

Outstanding resistance to high temperature corrosion.

A nickel-chromium alloy with added aluminium for outstanding resistance to oxidation.
Highly resistant to carburization.

An austenitic chromium-nickel steel alloyed with nitrogen and rare earth metals.
High creep strength, very goodresistance to isothermal and cyclic oxidation.
6 Secondary Sheath
IAP Impervious Aluminous Porcelain
Suitable for base metal thermocouples.
Low temperature coefficient.
Suited to kiln applications.
Requires support at high temperatures if horizontal.
IM Impervious Mullite
For use with precious metal thermocouples
Great mechanical strength.
Relatively inert to suplhurous and carbonaceous atmospheres.
Often used as a secondary sheath with silicone carbide primary.
IRA Impervious Recrystallised Alumina
For use with precious metal thermocouples.
Fair thermal shcok resistance. High inertness to chemicals.
Ideal for reducing carbonaceous atmospheres.
High resistance to alkaline and other fluxes.
 When added protection to the conductors is required,
a secondary closed end ceramic sheath within the primary
metal protection sheath can be specified. This composite
protection sheath will encompass the twin or four bore
insulators and their associated thermocouple elements.
