Swaged Tip Thermocouple with Miniature IP67 Die Cast Head

Swaged Tip Thermocouples - with Miniature IP67 Die Cast Head

  • High integrity construction suited to arduous operating conditions at temperatures from -330°F to 2300°F (-200ºC to +1250ºC). The maximum operating temperature is dependant on diameter and environmental factors, further guidance is available here.
  • Custom built to your specification and terminated in a weatherproof die cast alloy, epoxy coated, screw top terminal head with the tube entry and Wire entry at a right angle to each other, with a ceramic terminal block. Suitable for simplex and duplex assemblies. Supplied with a 16mm x 1.5mm ISO metal pinch gland on the Wire entry for Wire from 0.118" to 0.315" diameter
  • Alternatively, we have a large range of sensors available to buy online in various diameters and lengths
  • Rugged large diameter whilst a low thermal mass reduced tip provides a fast response
  • The process of swaging increases the strength of the sheath by enhancing the grain structure during forming
  • Available in thermocouple types K, T, J, N, E, R, S & B in lengths from a few inches to hundreds of feet dependent on the sheath diameter selected
  • See detailed information on how a thermocouple works

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a thermocouple and how does it work?
A thermocouple is a type of temperature sensor that generates a voltage when two different metals are joined at one end and exposed to a temperature difference between the "hot" junction (where the temperature is measured) and the "cold" junction (the reference point). This voltage is then measured to determine the temperature at the hot junction.
  • How do I choose the right thermocouple for my application?
The ideal thermocouple depends on factors such as temperature range, accuracy, termination type, mounting requirements and environmental conditions. We offer a variety of thermocouples with different sheath materials, constructions, terminations, and temperature ratings to meet your needs. If you need specific advice, our engineers are happy to assist!
  • What is the maximum temperature rating of your thermocouples?
Our thermocouples are designed to handle a wide range of temperatures with some mineral insulated thermocouples able to withstand temperatures up to 2300ºF and ceramic sheathed thermocouples going even higher to 2900ºF. Each product listing includes the maximum temperature rating, so you can choose the best thermocouple for your application.

INSULATED
Hot junction insulated from sheath. Gives floating output with typical insulation resistance in excess of 100 megohms

GROUNDED
Hot junction welded to sheath tip giving earthed output and faster response to temperature changes

EXPOSED
Fastest response mainly for the measurement of air temperature in ducts. Restricted to a maximum operating temperature of 1110°F
